What is Fair Trade?
"Fair trade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), fair trade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives." (Fairtrade Foundation)
HOW DO I
'GO GREEN'?
The best way to start greening your life is to start simply. Choose one item that you use daily and replace it with a resuable product. . . then another . . . and another. After all, it only takes doing something for 30 days to become a habit.
-
Do you buy water regularly? Try taking a stainless steel water bottle with you from home instead.
-
Buy take away regularly? Try taking your own reusable coffee cups or resuable cuttlery.
-
Need a gift for a friend? Choose an eco gift to encourage sustability.
-
Have a new baby in the house? Protect their delicate skin with soft bamboo products.
